Valley of Kings

Yes, the ancient pharaohs definitely had something going on. I've been thinking about the Hyksos who ruled Egypt around 1650-1550 BCE as the origin of the tiefling race—they worshiped Baal and identified him with Set, so might as well go full-on evil god pact. But the pharaoh who kicked the Hyksos out and began the New Kingdom also started the dynasty that built the tombs in the Valley of Kings, so maybe they drew on necromantic power to defeat the Hyksos and solidify their reign. Yes, I'm pretty sure that's what happened. (Possible there's power of a different kind in the older pyramids.)
